Thanks Li, for the update! Figur8 will need the Seventh Generation laundry powder for the wool + bamboo diapers I'll be passing her soon. :D

I took a break from cloth because my little girl was too squirmy and I too tired, but have started again and it is lovely seeing her walk around in her diapers at home (no need for the wool cover since we can just change her in a flash).

I'll be visiting KL in a few months and will love to try the Grobaby biosoakers. Will check out your website closer to the date. :D

i know this is an old post, just wanted to comment you can get Moltex Diapers and 7th Generation diapers in KL now. Moltex is sold by the same Malaysian Co. that sells Badger Balm.

7th Generation you can purchase at some organic stores and also Blue Dot Baby in Bangsar Village.

However, (slightly biased as we stock this), the Grobaby biosoakers are actually, in my opinion a better alternative to both those as they contain much less in the way of Super Absorbent Polymers (which is one of the main causes of concern for disposable diapers) and do not have any plastics or chlorine

There's another UK brand but the name eludes me now. Nature's something... It is also environmentally friendly. Their wipes are great.

We keep Mame Poko around as spares, especially when Wolf has a troubled tummy like now.

Figur8: Wolf is sweaty too but with the wool + cloth, his bum doesn't sweat. Although that said, he likes the BumGenius better because of the colours. So maybe the trick is to buy a blue wool cover!

We use Mamy Poko too. I don't know if the Seventh Generation diapers are available in Malaysia. We have tried Fitti (bought on a day when I was feeling a little poorer and we had not access to our cloth diapers). And comparing that to Mamy Poko, the Mamy Poko had a less sweaty bum in it! I am not sure if its really that breathable, or its just the chemicals which manage to absorb the moisture better..

Figure8 - same with JW! He is pretty sweaty these days too.

Chin Li - I was never as diligent as Mephala with the cloth diapers and would use half and half. We used Mamy Poko purely because through friends' experiences, it was the one diaper that rarely ever caused diaper rash. One friend found it was the only diaper that was effective in preventing diaper rash that she bought it all the way back to Cairns in Australia...

Mephala - Mommy's Touch diapers, I think, are pretty similar to Bum Genius from the sounds of it. Although Gavin prefers to wear them over disposables (I'm guessing because they're more comfortable), I still find his bottom gets sweaty as well. Then again, it's hard to say with Gavin because he's pretty clammy even under a t-shirt! When he plays downstairs without a/c, he'll have rivulets of sweat running down his forehead! In all, I guess he's just a very sweaty toddler.

Me too. :D Or when I want Kitten's diaper to match her pretty pink dress. LOL. Have to say they are very cute.

I have a pack of size 3 Seventh Generation chlorine-free diapers. I guess that is as green as you can get. Kitten had been using them when she was born till I switched to cloth when she was 3 months. They cost S$28.50 on sale. Usual is around S$36 I think.

We've been doing pretty well with the cloth. Routine now I guess. And don't used the disposables unless she has diarrhoea.

Yes, I have pretty much use the Bum Genius diapers as last resorts (when everything else is in the wash!)

Which brand of disposables do you use Christina? I wonder the make of the disposables makes a difference..?
