Now, I'm all grown up with 4 kiddos of my own and I make darn sure that they get to enjoy every bit of it. From pumpkin patches to choosing their own costumes, to trick-or-treating and everything in between. It's such a fun time of year to be a kid. Or a big kid! I loved Halloween as a child. I don't see any problem living vicariously through children as long as they are having a good time with it as well. Perhaps you can make the first adventure for him out worry free by planning ahead of time with a select few friends willing to participate in the Halloween fun. I don’t see any problem living vicariously through children as long as they are having a good time with it as well.
