We got quite good at it until we went to Australia in winter and Gavin objected to having his bottom exposed. Guess he was not used to the weather (even though I tried to heat up the bathroom first). I think having my arms elbow deep in poop water (Gavin pooped into his bath water when he was a baby) was a good desensitising experience. It's funny how much ew factor I've adapted to since having a kid. To think that there was a point when I wouldn't touch a tissue to wipe a kid's saliva - look at me now. As for the unschooling bit. I was also really keen on that at one point. A friend was telling me how she met a very engaging and dynamic 20 year old who had been completely homeschooled all her life. She was going to talk to her mother about how she handled the home schooling. Haven't had a chance to find out more, but I was very intrigued. My best friend does EC but it takes a lot of dedication which I don't have. :D Yeah the eww factor was what held me back. But after washing my son's bottom for over 3 years I think I am quite used to it. Cloth toilet paper sounds awesome. It is the first I have heard of it but it sure is environmental. :D I really really like the idea of unschooling but I think I will be crucified by all whom I know if I unschool my kids.
