Can't say that I've actually ever experimented with the thickness of the diaper insert but I've always made sure the diapers were tight. The few times I got leaks was when Gavin was sitting on my lap and there was a gap in one of the leg holes.

Hi Amy,

I tried your lovely bamboo diaper and a bamboo insert plus a wool cover over and there were no leaks.

While washing the bamboo diaper I realised how absorbent it is! I shall be selling by BumGeniuses and buying more. :D

Thanks for your amazing diaper! :D Definitely the best we've ever used (and so light to carry around!).

Cheers,
Christina

Hey there! I'm so glad you love the bamboo fleece, it's so soft!
Have you tried to just use the bamboo fleece fitted with a doubler and just 1 wool cover for overnight? That's all I've ever had to use and we never have leaks unless the wool shortie needs to be re-lanolized....?
Thanks for the link love!!! :)

I did exactly the same too and tonight am braving it with just one hemp insert inside a bamboo diaper (but 2 wool covers)! Fingers crossed.

Actually our dazed toddler just said, "I'm wet, Mama", and I had to feel around to see where it was wet. :D

It is a relief now to have finally solved the problem.

Keller looks like such a happy girl. She's very lucky to have a wonderful Mom in you. :D

It took a few weeks of leaks to discover that we weren't putting the diapers on tight enough. My husband was really concerned because while we were snapping them, it would seem so tight, but after letting our little one move around the diapers would feel loose. We tried double stuffing them and the leak problem got worse. Finally, I discovered one day that it was tighter that fixed the problem, not thicker. I know exactly what you went through. At least you had a child telling you where the problem was. Our daughter was less than a month old and I would just wake up in the middle of the night in a puddle of pee in our bed.
