During this downturn we are looking to buy another home, maybe to rent out, maybe to stay. With two kids it is tempting to move, especially if number 2 is a girl.
Lately I’ve been spending a lot of time in Jack’s godparents’ homes, both of which are extremely tastefully decorated with contemporary furniture and modern furniture, respectively. They are both designers by trade.
The hubby and I are more fans of European furniture, hence our current home is very Mediterranean in style with cave-like walls and wooden fittings and fixtures. Still, modern design has its pluses. It is bright, clean, and largely cheerful.
On hindsight, I think I’d like my bedroom to be styled Mediterranean while living areas are modern. That will give the best of both worlds.
With the current global economic crisis looming, it is a great time to pick a new home and renovate it at heavily discounted prices. 2009 is it.
