Bear has grown so tall now. He’s shooting up like a bean stalk and like his father, eats everything and wants to sample every food. It’s remarkable how lean he looks, but how strong he is. At certain angles, he looks like me, others like his Dad. Most people reckon he looks like one or the other but I think he has a combination of both our best features. Or he looks simply like himself.
To date, he’s crawling everywhere and can stand safely while holding something steady with one hand. He’s opening drawers and cupboards and still standing steady while pulling stuff out. Last night he emptied his Dad’s wardrobe of clothes to our amusement. He repeated it tonight.
He’s learning how to get down the bed, legs first. We’ve been cheering him on and he’s very encouraged. He’s mastered the stairs up, but not down. I think he’s so thrilled by speeding up the stairs that he’s not interested in learning how to get down yet.
His top teeth are emerging causing a lot of pain at night. I’ve applied Dentinox and it appears to help some. He is starting to bite people. Maybe a good time to keep him away from the cats who might not appreciate it. Then again, they like to nip each other but only when annoyed. Hmm… naw bad idea.
Speaking of sleep, with pain relief, he sleeps easily 2 hours straight, and close to dawn, even 4-5 hours. Nap times have stretched from 20, 40, 60 minutes to an new average of 1.5 hours. He sleeps best when I am beside him. But Mommy needs her downtime too.
Mephala is a strange and rather interesting
